Gluten-Free at Chick-fil-A

I find myself constantly checking websites to search products that are safe.  Instead of having to search, I thought it would be easier to compile all the responses I’ve received from companies plus information I found on websites in one convenient place.

Below you will find a the response I from Chick-fil-A regarding their gluten-free products.  Also check out my new page Quick Gluten Free References.  Please note the dates each company was researched on, policies can change frequently so I still urge you to ask when in doubt.

  1. i had the chargrilled chicken and fruit salad with the berry balsamic dressing today for lunch and had an almost immediate reaction. must’ve been cross contamination? i am new to gluten free eating and am having such a hard time navigating all of this!

    • Hi Natalie,

I’m so sorry to hear you had a reaction to your meal. I just verified with Chick-fil-A to make sure the same products are gluten free (http://www.chick-fil-a.com/Food/Gluten). One thing to always question, even if there is a gluten-free menu listed, is if they have a dedicated area to prepare your food. As you mentioned cross contamination is a huge factor for safe meal, and if they do not use a dedicated fryer for fries, or a clean grill for your chicken you can consume gluten indirectly. Another question -when you asked for your sandwich did they just remove the bread or make a completely new one for you without the bread ever touching the chicken? These seem like painful questions to ask, but it can make a difference.

Please feel free to reach out at anytime I would certainly love to help/assist you in your gluten-free makeover. Also, I recommend using this forum, http://www.celiac.com/gluten-free/, to become familiar with questions other gluten-free individuals have and their personal experiences. The beginning is difficult, but as it becomes your daily lifestyle you will know what to look out for.

      Ann
